About the Artist
I grew up in a small town in Massachusetts. As a child I had painting lessons with a dear friend, June Branham, from our local church. I painted with acrylics up through high school--but not without frustration over my inability to blend the colors as I wanted.
My family moved to South Carolina for the warmer climate and the ocean, and I transferred into a university art program. I loved creating, but it soon became clear that I was ignorant of the "hows" and "whys" of artmaking. As I learned how to handle different art media, I discovered my love for oil paint under my favorite painting instructor, Maura Kenny. Apart from one experiment outside of school, I had never used oils before. I began painting with water mixable oils in 2015, and have continued to use them ever since. I received my BA in Art Studio from Coastal Carolina University in 2017.
Much of my content has inspirational ties to my New England roots, but I get just as much inspiration from living at the beach. Now I am continuing to work towards artistic growth through continual practice, and currently sell my work locally and online.
